Olympic Mountains in the Clouds
This was a fairly stereotypical summer day in Washington: cool and overcast. This sort of weather makes for awesome hiking, but perhaps not great views.
Upon reaching the summit everywhere you looked was just thick clouds. Thick clouds and a healthy number of mount goats.
But as I sat eating my lunch the clouds began to thin and one of the most stunning views of my life began to open up. I grabbed my camera and (carefully) rushed to get a better view. I'll never forget the clouds swirling around and below me as the sun began to shine on the mountains. It was absolutely beautiful. A few minutes later, it was gone.
